I need some inspiration for my new apartment, which of course will be decorated in the Shabby Chic style. I'm not moving for another five weeks, but I'm already thinking about exactly how I want it to look.

The one nice thing is it's in an older character building so I'll still have lots of windows and real hardwood floors. Just a few images to inspire!

J'Adore Shabby Chic: If you are inspired by the images and ideas of a home decorating style that mixes old with new, elegant with worn and modern with time-honoured pieces then you will love J'Adore Shabby Chic. I personally became enamoured with the style after ending a relationship where it had become impossible to tell who or what had less personality, my boyfriend, or the Ikea furniture that furnished our apartment. I vowed to myself to only have things that inspire me, including people, in my new digs. I am applying the passion-test not only to my furnishings, but to my friendships, lifestyle choices and jobs, as well. I am exploring the idea of whether it's possible to have a life that includes only things I am passionate about, where I value myself for the same reasons I value my shabby chic treasures, because they are unique, well-loved and imperfect. Please note that while I am obviously a huge fan, this blog is not officially related to Rachel Ashwell or the Shabby Chic brand. Cheers!
